Toys come and go but Lionel trains have endured for over 100 years. Why? What is their magic? For the answer, TM takes you on an action-packed three-hour, 40 minute tour of 19 Lionel layouts from all around the country.

PART ONE features the Postwar O gauge layouts of Karl Burkhardt and Ed Mularz, while Terry Johnson, Dick Brown, John Stanley and Michael Salnick like to run both Postwar and Modern era O gauge.

PART TWO features the O gauge public display layouts of Harry Turner's The Magical World of Lionel®, Roadside America, Choo Choo Barn, The Underground Railroad and Trainland, USA.

PART THREE features the T-rail layout of Chuck Roehm, who runs Postwar and Modern era trains and real SW1500 switchers on a local short line. Oscar Fox operates O and Standard Gauge. The Christmas O gauge layout of Dave Petrowski is included, along with the Standard, O and G scale layouts of Bob Brenneman. Finally, we show the new O gauge layout at the Lionel Visitors Center.

PART FOUR presents the Postwar O gauge layout of the colorful and knowledgeable Boyd Mason, who has many original Lionel parts, but he does not sell them! Also included are the Prewar O gauge layout of Stu Shuster, the Prewar O gauge layout of John Potter, and the Modern Era layout of Terry Johnson.
